I've listed some new oils in the shop, two of them are in my new roller bottles. These are perfect for pocket or purse. So far, I've got Poke That Eye, this is for repelling the evil eye, malicious thoughts and envy. And, Fast Luck, because who wouldn't want a little luck in their pocket? I have plans to pack Fiery Wall of Protection and Crown of Success in these bottles, as well. Of course, I will still have the regular 1/2 ounce bottles, this is in addition to those :)

New Items
Well, In spite of homeschool, laundry, cleaning, dishes, making orders, running after two little girls and the usual day to day, I managed to get labels designed for my Blessing Salts and Blue Moon Wishes oil!
I'll be taking a little vacation to visit my mom, but I hope to at least get the first type of salts up this weekend *fingers crossed*
I also listed two new oils; Dragon's Blood and Love Attraction. Dragon's blood is good for protection, as well as love, and is a powerful booster for any positive work. Love Attraction is formulated as a romantic love drawing oil with a little sex appeal added ;)
Blessings,
Lavinia

Circle Casting Salts
I'm currently developing a new item for my shop, circle casting salts. Whenever I cast a proper circle, I always sprinkle blessed sea salt around the perimeter, and I know many others do this as well. Salt is very protective, cleansing, purifying and healing.
What I'm creating is a salt that will contain herbs and oils appropriate to a specific intention, such as, love, money, protection, etc....It will help to imbue your sacred space with the particular vibe of your intended working! I'm hoping to get these listed within the next few weeks.
I'm also infusing oils with the light and power of the blue moon. I will be making a "Blue Moon Wishes" oil. This will be a magical booster oil, good for adding power to many different intentions :)
Light and love,

Gone Too Long
Wow, it's been a long time since I posted, sorry for being such a flake :)
My shop has been up and running for a few months now and I am absolutely LOVING it. I've met some really dear people along the way as well :) I can't even adequately express the joy I get from helping people, it's incredible!
I've been able to get quite a few items up, and there is so much more to come! I get sidetracked with homeschool and running around after my girls, but I'm trying hard to get everything I want to make, done :) I know eventually I'll get there, I just have to be patient (a hard one for me)
My latest items have been incense and spiritual waters. I use incense with every ritual and I use it when I bless the items for my wonderful customers. It just sets a "Spiritual" tone, and the symbolism of prayers ascending to the heavens, really helps with visualization! I use Holy water and Florida water as well, when blessing items and doing works.
I have a whole bunch of oils yet to be made, and hopefully, I'll be able to get them up before the holidays.
Blessings,
Lavinia

Filling Up My Store
A little at a time I'm getting things listed in my Etsy shop. My goal is to get a bit of everything that I'll be offering, in there. Then expanding on the varieties of each item. I've been working to standardize my herb blend recipes so they'll be consistent. That's the next item to be listed, probably sometime this week.
I felt it was time for a spiritual cleansing at my house. It was feeling "Heavy." Barking at the kids, snapping at the husband, feeling stressed, every now and then you just need to clean that shit out! I used my Chinese wash and the house feels so fresh and light now! I haven't even yelled at the kids all day XD
I listed my Saint Michael vigil candle today. It comes complete with a vial of oil and a packet of herbs!

What Religion ARE You?
When I get into a conversation about conjuring, spells etc..., people usually get around to asking about religion. Are you a Wiccan? No. Are you a Christian? No. You don't believe Jesus was the son of God? Yes, the same way I believe we are all the children of God. I honor Jesus as a holy and enlightened being, like the Buddha. People find it hard to accept, when a person doesn't fall into a neat little, pre-packaged, category. Do I believe in God? Yes! I just don't believe that he's this white robed, bearded old guy, sitting on a throne, waiting to judge me. I believe "God" is the creative power, energy and universal life force. He's what everything comes from and is made from. (Note: I use "He" for lack of a non-gender pronoun) He's the same, no matter what name you give him :) All paths lead to the same place. We humans give this force different names and personalities according to our human condition and the phenomenon we observe in the natural world. We are not all the same, each of us is so unique! Why would this God, who created us so different, want us all to believe and worship the same way? He doesn't!
There are in place, what I call "Universal Truths" Karma is the basis for it all. Every religion has some form of it, even Christianity. Remember the "Golden Rule?" I read an article in a science journal that dealt with the life after death experience. The author of the study reported that the most common theme to emerge, regardless of the culture or religious beliefs of the subject, was the idea that karma/golden rule was, in fact, the way the universe worked. Most participants in the study reported they had also experienced a profound change in the way they viewed their existence. They realized that many things that were previously important to them, no longer mattered. Such as, material wealth, successful career etc... They came to view love, compassion, family and friends, as the real goal of life.
I guess what I'm getting at is this. Don't be caught up in labels. He's that religion, I'm this religion; it doesn't matter. All the same God folks! I hate to break it to you fundamentalists, but you’re going to end up on the other side with Hindus, Wiccans, Jews, Spiritualists, Muslims, you name it. We all go to the same place in the end. We just have different names for it :)
Thanks for reading,

Little by Little
I finished the design for my labels and printed some out. I figured it would be easier in the long run, to come up with one basic design to use on all of my items. I did make a different design for my Chinese Wash though.

Getting Started
I've started work on the products for my Etsy shop. Usually, when I make my oils and incense, powders, baths and such, I just throw a little of this and a little of that together and I'm done. I have a general formula but nothing set in stone. Now I have to actually make a real recipe to follow, so that all my items will be consistent. That's what I'm in the process of doing now.
Today I worked on my "Fiery Wall of Protection" oil. I like to use this oil when I work with St. Michael and invoke his protection.
One item down, many more to go :)

Poor Baby
My youngest has a cold and all of you moms out there know how fun a sick child is! Besides the usual Tylenol, juice and plenty of rest, I whipped up a little candle spell. It never hurts to add a little magic to the mix ;) I dressed the candle with my "Glow of Health" oil and "Healing" herb blend. This herb blend has such a great vibe, when I empowered it my hair stood on end and I got goose bumps all over!! And, I must report, after the spell, my little one seemed markedly improved :)
I love how a dressed candle looks. It's absolutely beautiful, simple and pure.

Peace and blessings,

Candle Spells
I love candles and pretty much all of my spells involve them. I like simple rituals and candles are perfect for that :)
Here are some simple candle rituals that can be used for any working.
1. Rub a candle with appropriate oil. Pray over it. Light it. Done. Simple. This can be used for anything. If you like, you can write out your petition on parchment paper and place under the candle. You can also inscribe names or intent on the candle with a nail or pin. Burn incense if you like (I always do) Frankincense is a good all purpose incense.
2. Take a thicker candle (votive or small pillar) carve a shallow hole in the bottom. Anoint your candle with oil, then roll in herbs that are appropriate to your working that you have blessed. Mix some of the herbs with a few drops of your oil and stuff the bottom of the candle as well. This is called a "Loaded" candle. This is visually appealing as well as very effective.
3.Drawing spell- This is for when you wish to bring something to yourself (love, money, luck, happiness etc...) In these types of spells I usually use colored candles, its easier to maintain your visualization and keep track of, when each aspect has its own color. Place a candle that represents you in the center (your astral color) then place one or more candles that represent your intention, a short distance from your candle (in the proper colors). Anoint all candles with oil and name them for your intention. Pray over them and light. Allow to burn 15-30 minutes then extinguish. Repeat each day, first moving desired aspect closer to your astral candle, until they touch, then allow candles to burn out. Here's an example of a money spell- your candle in the center, green candles dressed with money drawing oil placed a few inches away. Each day move the green "Money" candles closer to your candle until they touch.
4.Banishing spell- same as drawing spell, only start with candles touching, then bad aspect is moved away from your candle.
5. Vigil or Novena candle- these are burned for a particular saint or spirit. Basically, you light it each day and say an appropriate prayer to your saint or spirit for your intention. A novena, as the name would suggest, is worked over nine days (or sometimes, nine hours). Usually an altar is set up for your saint and offerings such as cake, wine, water, coins, shells etc.. are placed on it with your candle, as well as a statue, holy card or image of some kind. Novenas are one of my favorite ways to work. When you work novenas often, you develop a certain bond with your saints and spirits. You come to feel like they are "Your" special saint :)
6. My daily ritual - I light altar candles, bless myself and my space with holy water. I light altar incense. I pray for whatever it is I need that day (peace, guidance, patience etc..) light a tea light and meditate on my life for a few minutes. After meditating, I give thanks and extinguish the altar candles. I usually let the tea light burn out. I do this each day to help center and prepare myself for whatever the day holds.
Candles can be used for simple fire spells such as - write your petition on parchment, then burn it in the flame of a blessed and anointed candle. Thus releasing your intention to the universe. You can also purify amulets and talismans by passing them through the flame of a blessed and anointed candle or incense smoke.
Candles are super versatile and I'm sure with a little creative thought you can expand on these ideas and come up with your own meaningful rituals. The possibilities are endless :)
Peace and abundance,
Lavinia

The Significance of color
In the magical/spiritual journey, you will most likely come across many correspondence tables listing what color to use for a specific purpose. Most are similar, a few may be slightly different between the various traditions. Is it really necessary to use the specified color?
Well, yes and no. Yes, in as much as we have come to associate certain colors with certain aspects. Such as: green = money, red or pink = love, white = purity, spirituality, etc... And in this respect, there is a definite psychological impact on our perception of the ritual. We see the color, know its association, and it strengthens the visualization of our intent. Also, it is believed that the various colors have a specific vibratory influence on our work. Whether that influence is because of the association with a certain deity, saint, planetary ruler or zodiac sign; it is thought that the particular color gains strength and influence from that source. Thus, adding to the power of the ritual being performed. So we see how color can be important.
But is it necessary? I personally don't think it is. After all, prior to the 20th century, most people used plain white candles for their prayers and rituals and I really don't believe that they were any less effective. The majority of folk magic traditions come to us from rural areas and humble people. I doubt very much that they had access to a wide variety of colored candles, so they used what they had available to them. Which is, of course, the very nature of folk magic and the reason I love it so! Simple techniques and using what you have to make the needed changes in your life. What could be easier and more satisfying than that? I believe the power of the intent you put into your ritual and belief in it's outcome to be the most important aspect of any prayer or ritual. Throughout the new testament of the bible, Jesus repeatedly tells the people that are cured "Your faith has healed you." Obviously his message was meant to convey the idea that it is your OWN belief that brings about the change, not some external force. My point is, if you need money like yesterday, are you going to wait until you can find a green candle? I don't think so, especially if you're strapped for cash and all you have is white candles. What if you're in need of healing, are you really going to root around for a blue candle when you feel like crap? Use what you have, colors are great but not entirely neccessary.
So at the end of it all, yes, color can help in its own way, but ultimately, it's your own conviction and perseverance that bring about change. Use what you have and try not to get hung up on all the trappings and what someone else says is the "Right way." The power and intent are channeled through YOU, all you have to do is believe :)
